Goal Setting – How to Get What You Want

The process of getting what you want is a simple, goal achievement plan, that a lot of people simply do not take seriously. They go on, day after day, not knowing what they want or how to go about getting it. If you have set goals for yourself and want to ensure that you achieve them, let me show you a very simply method of taking one specific goal and using it as the means of getting what you want. Here is how the process works:

We all have a few goals that we would like to achieve. In this process, select a goal that is the most important to you right now, the one that will bring you the most satisfaction. It could be, starting a business, learning a specific amount of money, learning a new skill, and so on. Write the goal down on a piece of paper, or better yet, on a large whiteboard so that you see it every day.

Choose a date of completion for this goal. A goal without a specific date attached to it is only a wish. Be realistic in setting the date of completion. Wanting to earn a million dollars in the next twelve months is not as likely as wanting to earn one hundred thousand dollars in that same about of time. I think you get my drift, and it must be in your time frame, not someone else.

How much money will you need to get what you want? Is it five thousand or ten thousand per month? How many sales would you have to make to get this money? Break it down per day and per month. How many leads and / or phone calls would you have to make to get the sales? Break it down per day and per month. You must stay focused in this part of the process.

There will have to be a certain amount of time invested in talking to prospects or clients, acquiring new skills (as needed), and working on yourself (personal development). This will require discipline, persistence, and consistency throughout the process. Record your progress and celebrate those small victories. If you want to get what you want, it will take work. No one said it would be easy, but with hard work and discipline, the experience will be well worth ride. Utilize the process described, stay focused, keep your mind right, and visualize getting what you want daily until you have it. It is yours for the taking, go get it.
